Watame and Marine were only able to produce the MVs for My Song and Treasure Box because of all the support they've gotten from fans, with Watame noting that she spent almost the entire earnings from her birthday merch on it while I don't know if Marine ever was as explicit about how much she spent. There's nothing wrong with wanting bigger numbers as long as you don't abandon your core fans to chase them, and just because numberfagging quickly devolves into shitflinging here doesn't make that less true. People introduced to Holo by EN have minimal context of the importance of numbers since by that time Hololive was already a smash hit, but that wasn't always the case. I fucking wish my oshi was better at promoting herself and used her amazing skills to get bigger numbers so she could focus on Hololive full time since it would mean more streams and more music.
