Considering he was originally going to have Han Solo be some ugly alien thing, and considering the autistic shit in the prequels all sounding a lot like changes that were cut out of the OT, he legitimately was better with some guidance polishing it.
One might argue this is how/why Holo rose as it has, the guidance they give the girls generally makes a superior product to them if they were totally standalone/unguided. This isn't always the case as there are successful indies too, it's just with this system they can polish people up.
