When she got older, she started experiencing the effects of male puberty due to internal testis, which I've heard can cause a lot of medical issues. She may have taken/be taking a puberty blocker or anti-androgen to halt the effects of male puberty. She said it was rare, so I bet it's a little more complicated than the average intersex condition, though.
In other words, I'm guessing that she has a large clit and a narrow vagina with only internal male reproductive organs. Unfortunately, you would probably not be able to get her pregnant.
