But despite all of that, they were perfectly in the right to make it. This is the entertainment industry, and entertainment is about more than the sexual preferences of their audience.
On the other hand: there's no reason why they wouldn't have been just as woke in 2020 as in 2022, so if they were actually committed to a gender-equality, "we're not like the JP branch" bit then it would have been mixed from the beginning.
