So, the way fanbases go, can evolve in two routes:
>a.) The fans enable the girl to get worse and worse because enough of them think it's beneficial to be a visible, loud white knight defending their oshi from the horrible.. other fans of that oshi who dare question anything at all she does. Sometimes the girl herself is at fault here by openly coaxing and siding with the yesmen etc, it depends. This allows the girl to get worse and worse and fewer and fewer people are actually having fun with the content, it's a net loss overall.
>b.)The fans have a give-and-take and enjoy the girl when the times are good and exit quietly when they're not. Fans may or may not shitpost each other or the chuuba herself (nousagi are proud of being a nuisance to pekora) and it's all in good fun. Some of them are more hardcore and tolerant than the others but the fans aren't cannibalizing each other openly over it, for example I don't see the takos blaming each other much or trying to take each other down if they speak up about "boy ina has not been talking to us much.." they just stay quiet and leave the room (/wah/ is literally a dead ghost town now). I'm not saying takos are the be-all-end-all best fanbase (they're not, and I'm not a tako myself, it's just easy example because Ina's away), but I do think they're being sporting about being put through 2 months of nothing compared to Gura's 3 weeks. This again probably has to do with the girl, Ina herself never SC baits or tries too hard to cultivate mindless hypersimps, she's fine with the fans she has and happiest if she inspires them, and that's that.
