>>40648297>she's on a path to burnoutI’m more optimistic about Yuko than you. If I had to guess, I’d say that yes, Yuko does some things similarly to Gura on purpose because A.) she admires Gura so of course she would, and B.) she knows some people started watching her because she’s cunny and a bit like Gura, so why not do some pandering?
But if you look at this burnout, it seems to be confined to HoloEN. Something is happening with management that’s draining the girls’ motivation. IdolEN doesn’t have those problems, and in fact my rrat is that they decided specifically to head off the issues that plagued HoloEN beforehand.
No inter-branch unity? Hire multiple EU girls who are close enough in time zone to collab with HE. Kiara’s isolation? Again, IdolEN hired two EU girls (which is even bolder than Phase Connect’s one). Talents hating their character and sabotaging it, a la Kronii’s wii fit bullshit? Let them create their own characters.
Also, given Yuko’s pl and how different it is from her character now, I think Idol made sure to scout people who keep up at least a little bit of kayfabe to prevent the usual “unicorns becoming increasingly schizo” thing that happens when a vtuber becomes nothing more than a streamer with an avatar.
Hell, if I wanted to get even more speculative, I’d say they made sure everyone could design their own character so that the token autist wouldn’t ditch her character lore the first chance she got.
I’m sick of /jidf/ calling Rin the “Mori of IdolEN”, and she’s not even my oshiMaybe Yuko is going to cool down for a bit. But I’m not seeing too much burnout potential because there’s a lot of differences between her situation and Gura’s. For one, EN is the branch keeping Idol alive, unlike Hololive, which clearly views their EN as a side branch they can afford to neglect.
