Nothing, it's like Johnny and associates they are still very famous in Japan but they no longer appeal to foreigners. Anyway, they still need to compete with Nijisanji so it's pretty much that's only reason these side branches exist.

As much as I hate to say this: a lot. HoloEN sucks, but the meta (getting clipped) is geared entirely towards EN. So many clippers are incentivized to clip EN vtubers instead of JP ones that the entire reason people outside Japan gave a fuck about them is going to disappear.
I’m sure /vt/ will claim otherwise, but if Cover got rid of all its EN speaking members, most anons who don’t give up on vtubing altogether will switch to small corpos or even NijiEN rather than switch to JP.
