I dug up this anchient troubleshooting faq from a couple years ago, try some of these.
Hot tips and Troubleshooting:
If you're using the 4chan External Sounds script, and things are TOO loud when you click images, but you DON'T want to adjust your browser volume, edit the script, Ctrl+f "player.volume" and lower that from 0.80 (80% of browser volume) to 0.50 or something.
If you're using the 4chan Sounds Player (the playlist one), it can read multiple sounds in a single filename. Just add as many [sound=url] to the filename as you want. You can add a name before each one, just before the first, or none at all.
The inline player will fall back to playing the last one so keep that in mind.
The 4chan Sounds Player has a built in fixed playlist theme. To enable it, go into Settings > Themes > Check the box next to fixed playlist. Make sure you also have a keybind set up for switching themes, check Settings > Keybinds, under Themes section.
I can't hear sounds?

First, is it ALL of your sounds?
If so, maybe remount the script in a different script mounter (violentmonkey, tapermonkey, greasemonkey)
Make sure you're using the updated sound player
https://github.com/rcc11/4chan-sounds-player/releases/tag/3.4.5Check to see if you can access
https://zz.ht/https://pomf.cat/https://catbox.moe/If you can't access one or some of those, which are the most popular hosters, make sure you aren't bloocking those websites in your adblock/NoScript
Some AVs and ISPs block Pomf still. got put on a blacklist for a single file years ago and never got taken off- despite pomf not hosting scripts/exes for years.
try allowing auto-play permissions in your browsers options on both 4chan, catbox, and pomf. See pic related
play around with disabling and enabling File Info Formatting on 4chanX
Check for hidden options in chrome://flags or whatever your browser uses for the secret settings.
According to one anon, "so I figured out what was going on with Chrome, and you need to enable Ignore Previews Blocklist"
Put
@@||
a.pomf.cat^
in your filters. Not whitelist, FILTERS for ublock origin
put it into "my filters"
and put it in there without quotes
when ublock origin blocks you from accessing a site it will show you pic related
which tells you what filterlist and the syntax of the filter
putting @@ before ||
a.pomf.cat^ makes it an exception
the disable strict blocking button at the bottom lets you access the site but the filterlist will still block
a.pomf.cat when its third-party (which is what the userscript does)
And finally, please be kind and help others enjoy this fun opportunity.
