>>42693705>>42693733>Aki and Suisei are also taking a break. Are you gonna say the same thing to their fans?>And Ayame is now back after a long time.>by your own logic no one who's a fan of Shion, Aqua, Ayame etc. would be a "real" vtuber fan eitherAll of those holos were with the group before it became a massive, runaway success with western audiences. And anyone who is a fan of them knows this - meanwhile, Gura just shows up right off the coattails of Pekora, Miko and Korone being many westerners introduction to vtubers in general, and gets huge numbers immediately. That's the context that people are "dropping in" to being chumbuds in, the idea that Gura is just this "huge, runaway success" as an individual and that she's this great vtuber because of it. Well, she's not, she's actually a pretty typical vtuber (as we're all well aware), but one with a super inflated reputation.
This is why, I don't think chumbuds are really worth being considered in the same light as fans of girls like Kiara, who stuck with their oshi despite getting constant shit early on in the lifetime of holoEN in general. Or Ame, who you basically need to be in a very specific niche to even find entertaining at all.
>>42693801>Say the same shit to the takos, I fucking dare you.Again, the same thing applies but to a lesser extent. Takodachis love this idea that Ina just has this "loyal following", but it's just because she's safe, inoffensive and always streams at the same time. She's the bare minimum of originality/interesting content whatsoever that you can even have in a vtuber, meaning that her fans literally create the void that is her content's entertainment value with the IDEA of her. Hell, most of them even admit that they use her streams as background noise - not the sign of being a particularly invested vtuber fan, is it?
