fallout 3 is like surprisingly decent fangame made by people who played the original a long ass time ago but missed the point so tonally its kind of all over the place and is basically a soft reboot taking the first two games and mashing them up into an abomination that they set in their own backyard instead of in the desert which leads to a lot of headscratchers and lore mishaps
4 is 3 but flanderized to a comical degree and instead of simply missing the point, it does a triple salchow backflip and then jetpacks over the point but people tolerate it because the graphics and some gameplay elements are on par with games from ten years ago. it's like a mediocre shoot and loot fps game wearing the skin of fallout like a ghoulish mask
