>>433235>I wish people would just post webms with sound, I can't adjust the volume on these dumb soundfiles. And if I accidently press the hotkey that expands all images in of these threads I'll dieIf you're using 4chan External sounds, and you want to adjust the volume, edit the script, Ctrl+f "player.volume" and lower that from 0.80 (80% of browser volume) to 0.50 or something.
But if you want an easier players so you can always adjust the sounds, with a convinient ui and volume adjustment and everything, you can use 4chan Sounds Player.
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/402682-4chan-soundsI mean, I use both. But you can just use one, or the other. They aren't reliant on each other, and they don't get in the way of each other either.
>>433421>I have "4chan External Sounds" installed. It works with soundless webms but only for jumping around. With stuff like .png or .gif I don't even have that
4chan external sounds works with anything that referneces media in it's filename. gifs, pngs, jpgs, webms, whatever. So if it isn't playing audio for anything but webms, either you're having some sort of issue with noscript/adblock whatever partially blocking the script, or you should consider switching to 4chan Sounds Player.
>>433676Don't be rude.
>>433516>soundniggers are immune to reason. just ignore them or filter them.Sure, some people are obnoxious with anything that seems exclusive, but I'm a fan of soundposts because I see it as a very easy way to enhance the imageboard experience. It's easy to install and for most, a non issue once they follow the two or three steps the first time for setup.
Webms, even with sound linked on /wsg/, have an audio length limit. For soundposts, you can have a full 4 minute song attached to an image or a gif- and for webms, the Sounds Player supports looping the webm while the song audio continues to play.
You could link a video off site, sure, but then that sort of defeats the purpose of an image-board, with the content IN the post, not a separate clickable link.
At the end of the day, soundposting is a fun enhancement to the user experience that opens up a lot more flexibility and opportunities to image board culture- but it's not for everyone and people understandably prefer what they know and are comfortable with.
