If the white streak is unnoticeable, goes less than halfway the length of the cucumber, means its very young, better crunch, but tastes bitter and leafy. You use this for soups, and hot meals.
If the white streak at least half as long as the cucumber itself, its very watery and not as crunch, but wouldn't taste as bitter. You'd want this for serving them raw or in salads.
Try avoiding yellow-ish streaks, its fine to eat them, but it may indicate weird fertilizer, pesticides, or quick ripening with carbide (cross contamination with other agricultural products).
You also want the one that has already dried tip ends. The one that still appear "wet" is a sign the cucumber was still in aging phase.
In addition, you should always wash them at home, they have nasty pesticides and grime on them.
