The bottom line is, in Indonesia, if it says you're christian in your ID card then you're a christian regardless of whether or not you practice. If your ID says Islam, you have Islam classes in school, you get associated with Muslims, and you're exposed to its culture and practices.
Tl;dr everyone in ID is categorized into 1 of 5 religions and it doesn't matter if you practice or not, once you're in you're in.
