I have seen the shadowban argument many times but it's possible the jp viewers lost interest, the casual fans moved on to the next thing, and most of the remaining viewers use adblockers. Gura gets huge views on the VODs but the lower CCV might just be the number of viewers that refuse to watch ads.

Top 5 talents would be Gura Pekora Marine Aqua Miko/Suisei. Each of those have received special merch broke a record or just get so many sponsorships. The only safe bet for number 1 though is Gura. Dino gura broke so much records plushies have been consistent new merch, every figurine she drops is number 1 for a full week and in some cases multiple months. Her nendo sold so well they turn limited stock to unlimited and decided to get more holo nendoroids. The first Holomember to get a statue made. She is untouchable in marketability.

I was thinking about merch. Neither SC revenue nor views are good indications of how much a corpo VTuber makes. When you realize that they make bank from merchs (i.e: Pekora's birthday merch earned US$1M+ after just 30 days and Gura's apparently earned more than that), SC amount is just insignificant.

Actually cover has graph that shows the percentage of overseas to domestic viewers. Around 40% were overseas until a certain point around 07/22 where overseas dropped from 40% to 30-35% care to take a guess.

Gura is probably #1 and even with the most pessimistic estimate no way she isn't at least top 5. Her merch is consistently best selling not just for hololive but even compared to regular mainstream anime stuff. And the estimates of her membership income were in the 6 figures monthly (granted this was from last year she may have lost members since then). And then there is sponsorships which she gets pretty regular and usually pay based on views.

Even if her superchats were $0 she would still be posting yearly income in the millions. If you have any remaining doubt just look at how much Cover favors her in promotional material and being the first to get just about anything, they wouldn't do that for no reason.
