According to Coco:
30% went to Youtube, then from the remainder 70%, 30% goes to Cover. Though they still have to pay income tax for their cut to the government, which is the thing Coco mostly complain about.
Though that was years ago and I might get some of the numbers wrong but it's probably pretty close.

I think the split for merch depend whether the merch is backed by company's money or the vtuber themselves. I think I saw some clips about holo talking about funding some of the merch themselves, with company approval of course. I think it was Kanata? It's an old clip probably from the chink clipper so I can't find it.

While in Nijisanji, most merch is paid by and produced by the company, there is more like a passive income for livers as they don't pay or even need to do anything with them. Except for birthday merch that they would have to write something and comment on the design, or their personal and anniversary merch that is either designed or produced by themselves, both of which they would get a more significant cut just judging by how they promote it.

Unless someone in Hololive specifically states the percentage they get you can't really make an accurate comparison. For Niji we know for a fact they get 50% on digital merch (voices), Anycolor outright publicly stated this, and they say that and streamlabs are their best source of income percentage wise so they're both 50% going to the members. Then superchat because YouTube takes 30% is lower amount going to them because 50/50 after YouTube takes 30% is lower it's 35% going to the member. Then for merch it's something less than 35% of the price you pay that's going to end up in their pockets but what amount nobody knows.

People aren't considering the fact that cheap goods run the risk of cannibalizing your own market.
The fan's pockets aren't infinite. If you're selling too many generic items they might be less willing to spend once the custom anniversary merch comes around. Also their merch production capability isn't unlimited. Some resources will obviously go into the production of the generic merch so less manpower is left over for managing custom orders.
The effect is arguably low though, I'd assume most people have a brain and simply don't buy cheap stuff if they cannot afford it and save up for the good stuff.

Now, and this is important, you also have to account for how stocks are distorted by govs. I won't go too deep on this here because this is /biz/ stuff, tl;dr: stocks are artificially inflated by the government and roughly every single one of them is going down because they are slowing down the printer ever so slightly.

So expect stocks to go down. Now and for the foreseeable future. Unsurprisingly, this goes for anycolor and cover much the same.

That's what happened on Dec. 5th. Anycolor had a lock-up expire for half a year preventing any VC from cashing out early. And as long as it expired, it dropped from 12000 yen to around 7000 yen, then dipped further into 4000 yen territory for months because their Q2 didn't achieve significant growth. And this board shitposted about it for months without realizing their initial offering price was around 1400 yen
Cover's lock-up was set to expire as long as the price hit 1.5 times more than 750 yen, which expired on the first day, and then Holofags start taking initial offering price as a thing.
