I remember that's how a chuuba I follow first got 200+ viewers, and the chat got filled with kids/third worlders. That was awful. Streamer was too polite to say anything, but the mods had to work overtime that day.
If growing is at the detriment of chat quality, it's better to stay a 2view.

Do 3views even get sponsored streams/videos ? I'm not much aware of the meta, but isn't the best you get on Twitch with a smaller audience of <500 viewers, are ads/product placements ? I think they pay less than $100 even with hundreds of viewers. (I'm not talking about the automated ads that you don't see when you're subbed, but the ads that the streamer has to capture and stream himself).
But you're right, at a certain level, corpo sponsors will always pay more than donations. But my oshi will never get there.

If you are a corpo 3view then yes, bigger numbers are always better because of more promos and more opportunities. If you an an indie 3view it depends on your priorities.

Shorts don't have to be garbage, I like them when they're just clips from a stream with some editing to fit the format.
Though raids probably work best, with viewerthons streams being a good way to attract raids and retain viewers from what I've seen.
