it’s to let you know they have ADHD, like how someone would let you know they have autism or dyslexia. people with ADHD tend to forget minor things easily, have aversion to stuff like reading or anything understimulating, or say weird shit like gibberish, or slurring words because the brain thinks faster than the mouth moves. the tag hopefully helps you understand that

ADHD tag is brownie points towards the audiences they cater to. The type that would actively click the tag and see who's streaming because it's supporting "neurodivergent" people. They're already have a wokey audience so the con of getting more wokey's is nothing.

I’d also like to add that people with ADHD tend to be over represented in streaming because of the nature of it. playing game, reading chat, and trying to be entertaining make for a very stimulating environment which is perfect for people with ADHD to excel in. Examples of streamers with ADHD: xQc, Hasan, Mizkif, Sodapoppin. He hasn’t been diagnosed but I highly suspect Asmongold has it too. they have the tag because they do have ADHD and any other mental issue and it saves the hassle of asking “why do you act like this”

…I personally would never use those tags if I streamed, even though I have ADHD too. Using the tag doesn’t just say “I have ADHD”, it also means “I don’t think I have enough ability to not annoy people that I have to warn people about it up-front.” But maybe it’s because I’m pretty good at figuring out when people are autistic and have ADHD.
Either way, it happens to be useful if you’re like me and don’t like being around people who admit their mental issues up front. I stopped doing that once I found out how annoying most people who do do that are in real life.

As someone with ADHD who's on "meth" all the time I can tell you it has the opposite effect on us. Some stimulants are actually calming to us. The boost in focus makes it easier to keep your mind on the task and ignore irrelevant thoughts. It's as if the stimulants boosts our ability to control our thoughts.
