>>5258320Well she explicitly says right off the bat that she wanted to learn Japanese without using books or lessons, so what she did was complete daily immersion with a translation tool beside her and a kanji dictionary. She learned by speaking to Japanese people online, talking to people in voice chat, etc. And whenever she ran into new words, she'd look it up immediately, memorize the kanji, and then use the new words as much as possible in communication. This is not unlike how kids learn language, so it was very natural. It also helps that she was extremely motivated.
