vtubing is not a business school, these people do not receive business training. so naturally it goes through a kind of darwinian process where the people who are -really- too niche, or have a truly horrible shitty attitude, don't grow much more likely than not (but some still fall through the cracks, likely because nice-looking models compensate so much for bad approaches/attitudes for indies). it's kind of a do-it-yourself gig for most of them. so the variance you see in the field is like if you went to a flea market - every stall is selling whatever it wants basically but there tends to be a trend towards trying to find things customers buy (toys, clothes etc) and for vtubers the customers buy coomer experience, GFE etc more often than not.
