there are male/female just-friend dynamics out there I might add, plenty of them of:
- both the parties are married
- both the parties are old
- one of them's real ugly
- dude's legit gay/some other non-straight sexuality. even so I've known quite multiple dudes who were like 6 on the kinsey scale say they did at least once or twice, fuck a female friend (sometimes if they were drunk etc) - even if the guy wasn't into such an idea the girl still was.
I have friends from work who are girls but they're not really in the same category as actual-friends I've made on my own. and guess what, the ones who were more like "it's my friend's girlfriend" were never -really- that close, and the single girl in the mix not only took our friendship to be a budding relationship but the other girls who were already good on that front were giddy sometimes talking to her about me and encouraging us to get together (irl shipping.. girls are just like that).
with holo dynamics, these are (mostly) online contacts so it doesn't really feel as close or direct as IRL. they're coworkers yes. BUT their """work""" is literally to socialize. Holo's work/goal is to promote budding friendships for good vibes all around, to encourage people to hit it off. This is why people "just know" that somehow it feels off seeing a young good-looking (rather a picture of one) guy and a girl hitting it off with no confirming signs either of them is in the old/ugly/married things roping off a relationship. I don't get why the chuubas don't realize it just naturally looks like that even if literally nothing is happening, because they are in effect emulating the experience of viewers being a third wheel at a party watching people get chummy with each other. that's not what they came to hololive for.
