I don't listen to a lot of EN originals so I don't have much to compare Rebellion to, these were my thoughts when it came out though
>The hook
Really good and really bad at the same time, I guess this depends on your taste, but so does everything. "Fire fire light the fire" is obviously pretty catchy when you loop the song enough, but the whole chorus is extremely repetitive. It's just the same two bars of nonstop eight notes and their voices here aren't good enough to make up for how grating it is.
>The verses
Overall pretty decent but are bogged down by ESL lyrics. Seriously, "this overkill of sad old story is wearing me down"?
>The chorus
Starting them all with Shiori's goofy "fire fire light the fire" is kino as fuck, good shit. Nerissa then mogs everyone else for the entire chorus until we get back to the main hook, which is good for her but bad for the song. It's such a huge amount of tonal whiplash that it feels like it's supposed to be the chorus to a totally different song. I want all of the girls to be singing together when the chorus hits, not for the other three be backup singers for the best singer in the gen. It reminds me of when Suisei sang Sagajihen with JP gen 3 and sounded like she was singing with grade schoolers, except Sagajihen is an anime song designed to sound like that on purpose.
Overall I thought was pretty mediocre, but I'm happy to see Holo release debut songs. They're really fun for fans and generate a lot of hype around new waves/gens. Not the worst debut song I've listened to by any means but far from the best.
