Idiot here, what's the optimal way to defeat hard 2? Im trying to gachikoi all characters but I always have trouble with this stage. Do I go defensive? Do I rush collabs and dodge the whole way? Item builds would be greatly appreciated, preferably something that works on multiple holos.

The wall in Hard 2 is usually defeating Nodoka. You can breeze through the whole 20 mins but still get fucked by Nodoka if you don't know how to deal with her. If you still aren't sure how to do it then just make Dragon Breath and try keeping her just barely on the edge of your screen.

Special charges 30% faster, and when you use your special you get a +50% boost to all stats for 10 seconds with a 30 second cooldown. The actual weapon seemed a bit unimpressive to me though, looked like it completely lost Concerts knockback which was the main reason to take it, and while it shits projectiles all over the screen they didn't seem to deal particularly good damage for something that needs a 19 level investment. Though it's obviously way too early to properly judge it.

When I ran out of content I tried Halu Endless there with every character and ended up making 30+ screencaps of their "records", I'll thumb though them and see if there are any common threads.
Off the top of my head, what >>56001650 said. I distinctly remember Nodoka cucking me on several attempts, specifically because the way she spawns in fucks with most of the healing abilities and leaves you rudderless. So make sure you're adequately prepared for that sudden shift in circumstance.

Here's all of my caps. Each one passed the 30min mark. Keep in mind I was actively building for endurance each time so the pattern might not be efficient for simply making it to/past Nodoka.

Nodoka should be the only real barrier, so make sure you're including Dragonbreath/Bone Bros and Rap Dog in all your builds. Generally tanky builds with Horns, Meal, and Membership/Pillow work pretty well, but some characters do better focusing on avoidance with Headphones.

Honestly I don't think any of them should affect overall item builds too much since they free up the item slot once the super is made, you'll just either be taking the last one you want a bit later on or picking an additional one. The crowd control from Ice Queen or health and healing from Jingisukan might let you swap out some defence or healing items for more utility or damage though.
Overall the changes made to existing items along with the new ones should have a way bigger affect on what you're picking than the supers will.

How are you supposed to build Bae? Weapons are pretty universal, but what items and stickers do I actually want to not die on 2H? I can't tell whether I should be trying to tank/ ult spam, stack dodge/ crit, or just pray for shackles and pile up damage. I'm pretty sure I just need to reach Nodoka since Bae's ult has instantly splattered all the other bosses so far.

Looking at Ogaman stream when he showed his armory seems like all the super collab lose their weapon properties so they aren't considered melee, multishot, nor ranged. Combining them might not be the best choice for some.

Cuz it's a one-and-done get with a fucking broken effect. Only 3 other items outright double a statistic, and 2 of them only do it after 5 level ups. It's easy mode.
Also it's not a broad-stroke must-have for healers, Okayu & Kiara are the prime examples of it being a wasted slot due to HOW MUCH they heal themselves. It depends on the specifics of their kit. e.g. Sora should always have it since her damage is tied to the amount she heals, whereas Fauna never needs it cuz her DPS procs purely off of the frequency of heals.

IIRC I was experimenting a bit with each characters kit & trying to find items perfectly suited for them, so most of the messiness was fully intentional. It's no fun doing the exact same loadout every single time.

I like pick-up range letting me stay in one spot centralize all my drops and ensure I get all EXP without having to spend time chasing. AOE from Milk is also something I cant live without on most characters

>Energy Drink/GWS/Mask
Idea here is these are my offensive items. Haste Crit and raw damage depending on what I need without any critical downsides. Variation on the last slot based on characters like Sora or going into Hard and wanting a Daki vs bullet hell

This has always worked for me on all difficulties but im excited about what could change now with the update. Finding all the new things that can work makes my autismo senses go wild even if its just "RNG makes you go with Study Glasses instead of Kaela"

All weapons fall into the category of Melee(fist icon), Multishot(3 bullets icon), and Ranged(one blast icon). Character like Aqua has the skill that adds another extra projectile to Multishot weapons, and the new item Ninja Headband increase the damage of Melee weapons specifically. So for example Aqua will usually shoot out 4 Snow Flower Sake thanks to her skill, but once you make it into its super collab variant it will most likely lose that property.

Yeah I think the go-to strat was just to get to 100% CRIT asap & coast on that juicy x4 damage boost. You CAN build around Ult spam, but it lasts so briefly for such a long windup that it'll just distract you IMO. Focusing on making every single hit hurt is more effective.
So if you're simply trying to reach the 20min mark, GWS Pill is a must. MAYBE Sake too, if you either pile on so much DPS nobody gets near you or invest in a bodypillow. If the latter, you can throw in a Piki Piiman too and intentionally run into enemies to charge your Ult faster. Likewise Idol Costume is OFC more useful on her than most, but not essential. Hope Soda too, albeit it'll actively work against Costume/Piiman so best to choose one route or the other.
Stampwise Crit Up is swell, since at 100% CRIT it's an unconditional damage buff (and more at Lv3 than the ATK stamp). Other than that just optimize her hit-rate. So any combo of Haste, Size, Projectile & Explosion.
Oh yeah and keep in mind she has literally zero self-preservation Talents (I think enemies are still harmful when upside down, even), so either stack so much outgoing damage that nobody can touch you, or save 1 slot for something defensive. Eldritch works fine too, but the mix-maxer in me doesn't want to outright endorse it since it has a high minimum-cooldown so clashes hard with her Ult.

Yeah. I'm uncertain if the lack of weapon type properties for super collabs is a deliberate balancing choice or not. Although I look at the amount of projectiles they put on the screen the biggest concern is that they would probably be absolutly broken if the character has Focus Shades if they were all properly classified given that none of them are melee.

Vertical movement for the bullets that fire directly at you, orbit for the Undertale pattern. You can even stand still or orbit the wrong way in the second pattern since one or two hits won't kill you. 1H's and 3's bullet hells are harder because they fire randomly from all directions.

I always wondered why the game doesnt allow the chance to have your equipment upgraded to the Super version.
Would be nice to know that theres still a chance to get Super Knightly Milk even if I already have the base version.
Is this a thing already? Ive never had it happen and Ive never seen it happen to one of the girls playing either.

That would actually make it weaker. If you already invested 2 or 3 level ups to an item and then you get the S version you would "lose" those levels. Currently you will never lose any investment when getting a S item.

No, Progress on fandoms is saved.
Additionally, fandoms have been reworked to be exp system.
You gain:
- 7XP for normal stage (doubled for first clear),
- 10XP for hard stage (doubled for first clear).
- 2XP for G.Rank (max 21 G.Ranks count)

I think generally the idea for stage difficulty will always be "Normal Stages can be beaten without upgrades but it get's tougher as time goes on" meanwhile Hardmode stages will be "Better upgrade fuckface". Even with max upgrades with G-Rank current Stage Mode 2 hard can be challenging for certain characters (get's piss easy with full gachikoi though).

HoloX. Once all the ever gens are added, the final level will be a 30 minute gauntlet in the HoloX HQ, fighting each of the 5 members at the 5 minute interval, before fighting a combined force of all 5 at the end. Beating the level once unlocks their gacha machine.

if you have a high capacity for tedium and just want to "get it done" you can do five stage 1s come patch.
if you do it now you have to do one of each stage, meaning a mix of difficulties.
personally, i'm waiting because i have absolutely zero interest in doing maps that don't provide any challenge. i'd rather do five hard 2s or hard 3s than HAVE to do normal 1, normal 2, normal 3 etc because even if i halu gold farm it's still so easy i'd rather not play at all/use a trainer. if i have to actually play the game as intended with upgrades, grank etc i will enjoy my time.
the only reason to do gachikoi over the next few days is impatience.

You forgot about first time clear bonus, which counted for Oga. He needed 42XP from G.Rank, 4 normal stages clear with first time clear bonuses for 56XP and 1 hard clear stage for 20XP. 98XP wasn't enough for gachikoi, 118 was, so value is somewhere inbetween

Is not remotely the same. Because I'm this case the armor from the rpg is similar to the drop items you get in the game.
The shop upgrades are like the xp you get beating normals mobs. So you either decided to grind or not.

Leveling up inside a fight isn't a progression system, it's an inevitability every time you play. Playing an RPG and making use of its progression systems just to get to the end of the game and none of the enemies or bosses provide any challenge because you used those progression systems is actually fucking retarded. It isn't "gatekeeping" to continue providing challenge for players engaging with the content as designed.

Thoughts on this run? I feel like Bandage didn't do much in the Yagoo phase because once they started getting fast enough to hit me I was getting chunked pretty hard. I reached 100 crit even with Paw, but I wonder if 7 more ranks of speed would have been better than 1.5x damage. Stickers were Stun, Usaken, and Lifesteal.

Bae definitely benefits from prioritizing extra weapons, due to her Special. IIRC Ame gets a DMG boost to "all weapons" so was likely designed with that playstyle in mind too, Check Skill descriptions, basically. See how effects proc and whether more AoE will maximize their uptime.

Just release Hell stages eventually that require full or near full upgrades. Normal 0% (upgrades), Hard 50%, Hell 100%. Or like a daily challenge mode where you are presented with a specific character with fixed upgrades, who starts with 2-3 weapons and items that aren't the usual safe picks, and you are forced to build around them. Or instead of daily it's 3 such characters per week, and they have weekly leaderboard for people to compete in for longest survival time.

Take Choco. Her Awakened weapon has an added effects for when you land hits with the tip. If you have 4 collabs going you're gonna hit a lot less enemies with that. But WTF does ensuring x1.5 damage to a narrow row of enemies a specific distance from your front matter compared to doling out consistent damage on every side at every distance?

I agree with you, but I think it's the lesser evil to what we had with .5 which was, for the most part, having to cripple yourself to be challenged at any level of content once you'd engaged with the progression systems as designed. That's not fun for a lot of people, especially with how gachikoi works (used to work). Farming gachikois with a full store/20 g-rank is less fun for me than doing nothing, and it didn't have to be if we could turn a heat dial.

Because they're completely broken. It's kind of perplexing to me that Kay Yu seems to be taking the leaderboard stuff seriously yet in the end it's going to boil down to super item RNG just like the time stage currently is. Taking a super item should disqualify the run from a leaderboard entry and dropping it should give you the option to take the normal version instead.

After extensive time watching Holos play the game, it seems to me that a vast majority of deaths come from making dumb decisions or being oblivious about the environment which puts the player in a bad spot and then they just get chunked down faster than they can outheal the damage.

Nurse's Horn is the best healing item in the game for dealing with chip damage or minor fuck-ups but it's useless against bosses that despawn enemies and offers zero effective health gain so it's useless for big fuck-up moments. For any character that has built-in healing it's nothing special and any defensive item that offers actual effective health would be better.

A lot of people incorrectly view Nurse's Horn as some god mode item when all it does is cover for consistently sloppy play. It won't actually save you from dying in many of the situations that other defensive items will.

It doesn’t actually give haste, it separately affects attack time in a way that is this multiplicative with haste. It is actually more impactful with high haste.
But it might not be worth it for endless compared to other stamps for the reason you mentioned.

There's no reason for it to destroy all drops. That's just a relic of the days when HoloCure was aping Vampire Survivors nearly 1:1.

The whole point of having specials is either to speed up clearing if you know what you're doing or as a panic button if you don't. The game is now full of specials that immediately take pressure off the player with no downside. Hell, there are some now some passives that are better for negating/mitigating pressure than Mumei's special due to enemy spawn mechanics. It does not need the drawback.

Nobody likes giving up XP, so it has an use only in extreme emergencies. Maybe if we had more specials with some downsides we could buff Kusogaki Shackles to affect specials too, giving those characters a potential for special builds, but currently it's just Mumei.

NTA but yes though you have to build up to it. The quantity and value of fish you get goes up substantially with each rod. Once you grind your way up to the Golden Rod you are flooded with fish.

It's worth noting the amount of currency you get just playing the game has been increased overall. A typical stage clear with maxed Halu used to be ~20-25k. The Greed stamp made 100k+ per endless possible with IRyS. In 0.6 you can break 100k in stage clear mode with any character assuming you get the coin farming items and Reine has overtaken pre-nerf IRyS due to her special. It's pretty retarded that fishing is so broken and the feature that was actually added purely for passive coin income amounts to a whole lot of nothing. By the time your workers are leveled and bringing in respectable income over a long period of time you could be printing money with the Golden Rod.

Fishing should be nerfed and worker growth should be accelerated.

Farming gold for upgrades and gacha doesn't take that long, but I lost my fandom progress. With 0.6 soon and changes to fandom leveling I guess I will just wait.

Tears were completely busted in time trial prior to the nerf because you could make them strong enough to one-shot things. The sheer number of projectiles it fires and the projectile speed meant it was hitting most things before they had a chance to move very far from the edge of the screen.

I didnt know there were so many controller purists until biboo's stream. My only issue with KB M is the visibility of the reticle which is getting a patch in 0.6. And I switch between both methods, but I think play slightly more KB M due to the easiness of just opening the game up and instantly getting into a game

It scales with things that increase coin generation. If you get piggy bank and supa early and have coins upgraded from the shop it ends up contributing something like 30-40k for a stage clear.

Stun Sticker didn't drop for some reason and cost me the 40 minute clear. Sucks because pretty much everything else had really good RNG. Glasses + Halu got my speed high enough to outrun Yagoos almost up until the end, so I'll just ditch Squeaks and fire both stune weapons ahead of me.

Make sure to remove your upgrade, base chance of +1 to +2 is 90%. Easiest strat is probably pick Credit Card and Halu then try to upgrade every single weapon you get to +2, then collab them and try upgrading it to +2 again.

Assuming you are doing infinite instead of stage, you should always be going for crit. It's a free damage multiplier, and it's higher than Gorilla Paw (1.3 VS 1.5).

Because ever since the Steam announcement HoloCure has gone mainstream. Last I checked he said over 200,000 are waiting to play the game which is substantially more than whoever played it from the itch.io download. It's no longer a game seen as just a game for Hololive fans.

With that in mind it makes more sense why non-Holos are getting early access.

When you're doing infinite you take it anyway because you'll get more than enough levels to offset the crit loss. If you're not doing infinite you take it because it's very low investment and crit doesn't become a valuable damage stat unless you take and build multiple items to boost your crit rate.

NTA but there's little reason to pick Gorilla's Paw when Face Mask exists. It provides the 1.3 multiplier instantly, also gives 10% Haste, and since it can't be upgraded further you waste no level to upgrade it.

Yes and no. Steam has a hard limit of 100 achievements for new games due to retards releasing shovelware with thousands of achievements purely to bait faggots who care about meaningless points. HoloCure currently has more than 100 achievements so the 0.6 version had to cut a lot of them out. All the achievements that remained will transfer over.

But Steam release is still going to be big. With the amount of people waiting for the release, it's basically guaranteed to get trending - and that's when Steam itself would start promoting it.

That's total downloads anon. Total downloads for a game that counts repeated downloads for version updates as new downloads.

If you don't want to take my word for it just look at Kay Yu's twitter posts. He's actually nervous about the fact that the game is blowing up so much which means it's drawing in a crowd outside of Hololive fans.

For any character not built around crit you need to take both GWS Pill and Sake and have Hope Soda for crit to outperform Gorilla's Paw. That's a whole lot of levels on top of gimping your special usage just to outperform what you get from three levels for Gorilla's Paw.

This is simple math anon. If you're not playing a crit character you take Gorilla's Paw unless you have some obsession with dumping excessive levels and wasting three times the item slots for a very minor damage gain.

Yeah the game feels pretty different going back and starting fresh. No Halu, no upgrades... only getting a few thousand coins for a stage clear and the enemies run almost as fast as you even in stage 1.

You can get stamps and Irys after a single stage 1 run with any Myth, then just keep clearing all the stages with her using usual method, and after clearing her 2H you have enough resources to make the game easy for all other characters . It's not that bad.

You die anyway if you get touched by YAGOO in normal setup. Either you go full damage, which means taking Face Mask, and never let them touch you by killing them first or you pick undying character and outheal them while tanking.

Even with that, the armory is to bloated to guarantee you are going to get the item you want.

Depends on your shop unlocks, character, and game mode. Horns are the strongest individual healing item and you definitely need some form of healing, but for normal stages especially you don't need to go meta.

You want to fish for Halu first. That give you 5 slots free that usually fall into Blacksmith Gear, Membership, Mask and/or Gorilla Paw, Energy Drink and maybe a item for dmg reduction like Body Pillow (or Plushie if you have a character that heals constantly like Irys, Choco or Sora). That is usually enough for me to finish the stage or even endless.
Ofc, items like Nurse's Horn that synergize well with characters like Sora, Choco or Fauna. And niche ones likes Kusogaki, Inyection and Piki Piki Piman.

I think Ina is still the easiest Myth member to play on a fresh save, or maybe Mori if that helps.

Rushia doesn't have any items in the game (unless you attribute Cutting Board exclusively to her instead of flat girls in general) and afaik isn't even confirmed for later patches yet. The collabs do reference pairings, memes, etc., there just isn't a collab for everything.
