>>56162463The reason GGN Live didn't take off is because of three problems which alienated any potential viewerbase they could have had:
1. Bad Rigging - It's impossible to ignore how awful the models were. You can't just take CG from a pre-existing game, slap it into a program and have it work. Call it "soul" if you want, the girls were absurdly stiff and only had, what, two different expressions? In contrast, FWMC are very animated, have fun bouncy features and can emote in many different ways that GGN couldn't.
2. Niche upon Niche upon Niche - For how popular the VN was on Youtube for a time it had little staying power as a meme and most of the normalfags who spread the meme certainly could not have cared less about watching two otaku RP as the characters from it. The company who started GGN Live had no fucking idea what they were doing and it's clear that even with their immense talent FWMC are more comfortable playing characters that are immediately striking.
3. No JP Crossover - This is inarguable. FWMC are so successful because right out of the gate they made a strong attempt to appeal to the Japanese Hololive audience. Not only is this unprecedented in the vtuber sphere (usually it's the other way around, i.e. a Japanese chuuba trying to bait clips from EOPs) it also shows how misguided GGN was since it was so reliant on English viewers instead of Japanese ones. Once FWMC start to collab with HoloJP it's over, they will soar in subscribers and probably end up in the top 10 vtubers to have ever debuted in terms of superchats and cultural relevance. All it took was tweaking a few things to get them the fame they truly deserved.
