Is Stage 3 Hard Mode fucky for anyone else?

It's treacle-slow at the lowest settings the second it loads for me. But then I got a Chicken Feather and it sped right up to normal?

You get stat up level ups faster. If you want to pump your HP and speed into the stratosphere, then having less weapons makes that easier.

I think it might have given me both though. I was playing Risu, gachi tier 1 with a maxed out shop and the new OP food buff but I'm not sure that adds up to a 50% crit chance without the double buff from that super collab. (though an even 50% sounds a bit off if I had a 19% bonus)

I wish Kay would tune the reroll logic for more consistency. I just burned all 10 rerolls and couldn't find Halu. This is after using all 10 eliminates and maxing main weapon to reduce the item pool.

b-bwos my build isn't working anymore after this update because the collabs i use regularly got gutted like dragon fire+table and solo stamp is pretty much dead past early game
which new collabs are good? bardiche is strong but only few holos uses it efficiently

I threw hours worth of grinding to get some minions up to level 30-ish. The amount of fish/crops it takes to level these things is retarded and then you have to keep them fed afterwards too? Absolutely not worth the effort. I got my achievements and left

You can make a food buff that increases Halu's drop chance. But yeah, I would like more customizability in that regard, too; being able to pick a starting stamp or get better chances on item/weapon X if it synergizes with item/weapon Y that you already own would be great.

Get the Holy Super Collab (Gorilla Paw+Dragonfire) if you miss old Dragonfire. Outside that Snowflake Sake is still a really good utility Collab, Eldritch Horror is actually pretty good now, Bonebros is still solid, Rap Dog is good.

For real, though, why are Shion and Aqua so bad? I know Aqua's +1 projectile is, math-wise, pretty solid, but she's not fun to play, and Shion's teleport is a fucking nuisance. It is NEVER helpful, and the portal plants itself right beneath your feet which guarantees that if you halt during the "dodge the attacks" segments you'll frequently get dumped right into enemy fire. She desperately needs some adjustments to be un-shitty.

Aqua isn't bad, her playstyle is just pretty different from others. Cleaning Maid is a separate multiplier on crit proc, so with Hope Soda a crit will deal 2.6x damage. Her Sololive also synergizes pretty well with Devil Hat, which is another separate 1.6x multiplier, and now she can pick Gorilla's Paw for Holy Fire later on. The only problem with her is on early game because the broom is trash and she's squishy.
Shion though, almost the opposite from Aqua in that her main weapon is amazing, but the rest of her kit are trash. When people are using Breastplate to do damage during her ult instead you know that the ult needs some reworking.

I assume so, or at least they have high point totals. I have the #1 and #3 spot for Korone on S3H, and the only real difference is the duration I survived. And since I was killing Yagoo's the whole time, that's around 1.4M worth of points in those 2 minutes.

Have you tried Hardcore? I was checking whether it's worth it but if final score is heavily tied to the number of YAGOOs killed I think it's better to just not do it since a little nudge will immediately kill you.

You can, but you really have to plan out your build from the start. Also I max my halu at 12-15 mins instead of around 5-7 mins back in 0.5
Piiman + building a lot of HP seems to be the play now for Solo Weapon Halu play.
Also the pufferfish meal, while not specifically made for solo weapons really helps you out with a ton of stats.

You can say she's good all you want, but you aren't getting that damage bonus beyond 15-20 minutes in most games because the enemies inevitably start encroaching into the bocchi zone and then all you have is a speed bonus whose only use is to run into a crowd five miles deep and then die. The crit thing is fine, I guess, but having an ability's value tied to an item that may not drop (and to a very specific sort of build in a game where weapons and items are highly random) isn't good design, nor is it fun (the thing I was bitching about). Regardless, she's at least just boring and lackluster to play, unlike the witch who borders on being nonfunctional.

The constant rings and reddit-niki are what keep fucking me. If I don't spec super hard into damage, they just spawn over and over and then keep the bosses alive indefinitely. I just had 4 bosses at once last run, and could've had more if I didn't suicide.

i don't think they suck, and i don't think there are too many. the problem is each character only wants a small number of them, so there isn't actually much choice. you take the ones you can use and you let the remainder sit. games are "a series of interesting decisions" and stamps, at least as they exist right now, don't provide much choice.

Zeta just kind of feels bad to play.
I think one of the things that feels super bad is that her gun doesn't continue moving between bursts.
I picked up Shiraken 3 stamp and it made the weapon so much less enjoyable.
The rest of her kit doesn't even really do anything most of the time which is also unfortunate.

I've beaten stage 3 hard but then I've also failed a lot and it feels like bullshit sometimes. I lost to the boss once because not once in 80 levels did uber sheep show up and I was holding out for jingisukan, and other than that had no consistent healing.

zeta feels like one of her skills is missing, her kit is awful. the invis idea can work but somehow despite being in two places it feels undercooked.
i think if the invis cone on her gun was the default tied to awakened pistol instead of only during invis (you would turn the knobs a bit to make it work) she'd "feel" a lot better. right now, regardless of how good or bad she is, she FEELS bad to play.

I was goofing around trying to unlock the candy item, and I hit upon a really good set of items for Zeta. The play style you want is to basically max out your critical chance while always trying to avoid damage. Use the Marking stamp too, because Zeta has trouble killing individual enemies but has no problem hit tons of them. I probably should have grabbed the Idol Dress and maybe pikipiki. I'm not sure what weapons to go with other than to try to get Jingisukan and generally get projectile/multi-hit weapons.

I think Zeta conceptually has a really nice kit. She's a ranger character that has 2 invulns and an attack steroid. Simple but effective. Her numbers just feel a tiny bit undertuned for the very hardest content (halu hardmodes)

This is coming from a solo perspective though and I usually pump zeta with around 250-300 speed so she can play like the ranger / rogue she was meant to be. I could see her feeling like shit if you dont play solo though since you barely have any speed.

I like stamps but I think they're too biased. For example, if you play Kiara, almost every stamp is good on her because she has multi-hits on her main weapon. Size increase on a huge sword, every single chance based debuff stamp is fucking amazing because it's practically guaranteed in a wide area, like stuns or attack and defense debuffs or slows, and that's not even counting all the generically good stamps. Then you play Subaru, and she doesn't benefit from anything except the generic good stamps. Size increase? Sucks. Debuff based ones? Sucks because it's a single hit. And she can't use the multi-shot improvement because she's one of the rare single projectile characters, and the projectile doesn't even pierce like the other two. And then you have characters that are sort of in the middle, like single hit melee characters who benefit from some but don't work well with chance based ones. Basically, Kiara and multi-shot projectile characters get the most benefits from stamps and anyone else suffers. Kobo I'm unsure about because her weapon is kinda weird.

all four of the super collabs are fucking bananas. don't sleep on holy fire just because paw is trash; it gets rid of the loss of crit and does so much damage it can solo hard 3 by itself.
i worry about this, because supers encourage the two exp items to get them earlier. ultimately being strongly encouraged to go super collab + exp gear hurts build diversity rather than help it.

Game needs way more fucking rerolls or banishes. The weighting may have been updated after rerolls but it's not enough. The game weights it way too heavily towards things you already have and it's just getting worse the more items are added to the pools. VS had better weighting and kept giving out more rerolls/banishes/skips, but with this new version it's getting frustrating going for specific things like masochist iofi.

all or none (for cash farming)
upgrade weapons with anvils, levelups are for skills and getting new weapons

Ended up with way more knockback than I was happy with, but this was basically the item setup I was going for. Didn't have to move at all during the bosses. Iofi is fun but dealing with this bullshit RNG for items was not.

Learn what appears most often and eliminate accordingly. Only reroll after all or most eliminations are used up. Focus on taking items that require less level ups. To fill up your weapon slots, do less collabs, or even eliminate weapons before you finish leveling them up. I am the master of RNG manipulation, no problems here.

Holocure NEEDS the seal ability from Vampire Survivors.
In fact EVERY roguelike needs seal.
Being able to completely remove a garbage shit tier item BEFORE ever appearing in a run is a must when you keep unlocking trash that dillutes the RNG pool.

this is obviously anecdotal but with 10 minutes of fishing with the golden rod I made about 121K
Dropped my 65-combo at the 9 minute mark
Might be worth the time sink if you're coming from a completely fresh save file but its not that big of a gain from just playing the actual game

The game just doesn't have the same quantity of tools as VS and the weighting strategy is worse with it using category based selections, and it's only getting worse as more things are added into the pools.
