>>57273619frankly where I applied, i got in with the help of a buddy who put in a good word with the manager but really just find a store that deals with paint, see if they're hiring and if they have a website and just send in an application; as far as qualifications go it varies from position but, you generally don't need anything crazy like a degree since it's basically a retail job. a lot of my day (as an inside sales associate) is more-or-less talking to customers and repeatedly lifting paint cans (about 10 lbs) and 5 gallons (about 50 lbs?) to mix their paint. occasionally i'll have a shipment of paint material come in or sundries and i'll unload them and stock the shelves, but if you can stand doing manual labor, talking to people, and you're literate then i don't think you'd have much trouble getting in. if i were to make a suggestion, look for a place that deals exclusively in paint rather than general big-box stores (assuming you live in the US, instead of applying for a home depot, look at stores like sherwin-williams and the like)
>>57274090i know that feeling anon, screaming into the void does help and i honestly wish i could tell you something that could trigger an epiphany or something like it since i've been to that point and it sucks and i wouldn't wish that on anyone. i still fall from time to time but i get back up. i think just latching onto shiorin and her general concern for the novelites helps me maintain my motivations when i'm especially feeling at my lowest, but you gotta be careful not to go full-blown unicorn and blur the lines between fantasy and reality
