The customers that you aren't reaching in the first place, in this case, people who aren't catching clips and content to start, end up seeing your shit in the peripheral, for example through the sponsorships, and even though your product fucking sucks some of them get converted into buying into other shit.
So the hypothetical ideal scenario if this were the case would be that HLZNTL comes out, it's total dogshit, but people who play Overwatch or Valorant or whatever see the dumpster fire and then a few of them go "Wow, that gameplay was absolute dogshit but that Chloe girl sure is cute. I wonder what else she does".
Hololive is already more or less at their primary market cap which means they need to reach outside one way or another to grow their business, which I think is something everyone agrees on more or less.
