SHIORI AND THE DANDELIONS
Life is normal and time keeps flowing. People were busy with their life, and sometimes many details of the world with its uniqueness were missed from our eyes.
Same days like other days Shiori decide to check and make notes from a book that pique her interest from the strange peddler with it’s illicit good’s in the alley of the ##### market three days ago.
Strange book smells like wet soil when the rains pour, the cover and its binding were made from root’s, tree bark, and leaves from an unknown plant specimen that Shiorin had never seen before. Shiorin is familiar with its script on the cover that seems to be a root from the fairy alphabet “reveal and I will grant you the voice of the earth”, but its entire pages are empty and lonely.
Shiori keeps flipping through the book, but there’s nothing written on the old brownish pages.
“bah…..there’s nothing, that peddler sell me a fake book”
a bit of an unpleasant tone from her, but she as an archiver she believes books are meant to be something, so might use this one as her new notebook later.
wandering on her thoughts in warm sunlight sitting in a simple wooden furniture from her backyard, Shiori suddenly hears a strange faint voice that she keeps tracking her surroundings.
“mom I don’t want to leave”
“the world are vast and scary”
“but my son, every seedlings were already leave”
“have a courage like a lion and let the wind guide you”
“mom I don’t want to leave”
“the world are vast and scary”
Shiorin is perplexed that she could hear a dandelion speaking, she’s not sure how she should assess the situation but observing as a good archiver is probably the best approach while sipping her tea.
“this is our purpose my son”
“to leave our home and start a journey, to witness and be one with the earth”
“mom I don’t want to leave, I will miss you”
and thus the dandelion mother feels a huge emotion toward his young seedling, they keep bantering each other until the dawn and stormy rain comes.
thunder shouts and hard rain like a thousand spears want to puncture the earth with the wind brutally blowing from the dark starless skies, the dandelion mother and her seedling tried their best to hold on.
At first Shiori didn’t feel bothered; she thought letting nature do its thing is the best but, she’s indeed a sweet girl. She wore a raincoat and brought a clay pot and put it upside down to protect the dandelion and the seedling from the storm.
The storm was gone but that night Shiori could not sleep after making a stream schedule. Maybe she could get a sleep with a cup of tea looking through the window room in her backyard and enjoy the nice smell of rain, and maybe she could take a peek and observe the dandelion.
“Mom, I’m scared”
“hush son, the girl protect us we’re safe now”
“Mom, why can you stay calm and so brave ?”
“I’ve told you that I was once a seedling……….”
The dandelion retells her story to the seedling, about how she’s finally leaving her home and flying with wind are the happiest memories she could never forget. The dandelion is witnessing the world and its greatness and she will sleep anywhere and go anywhere as the wind guides her.
“there’s a lot to see, there’s a lot of thing to witness”
“the memories we kept are the prove of our struggle and existence that we will pass into another seedling, that’s our life purpose”
“you’re not scary mom ?”
“of course not flying are the amazing feeling we could experience, it’s very exiciting”
Shiori feels the dandelion's admiration, and she’s been taking notes to archiving these memories. The nights are high, while Shiori goes back to her room she could faintly hear the dandelions sing a lullaby for her seedling.
Today went pretty slow, and the wind softly brought a little cold air in a damp summer. Shiori realized that the book that she’s unattended starts showing changes since she could hear the dandelion speak, it magically records the dandelion story with its ominous light’s.
“Mom I’m ready to leave”
“Are you sure my seedling ? you’re not scared anymore ?”
“I’m still scared but I also excited, I want to see the ocean, the forest, the savana, and everything you’ve told me in your story”
“my seedling…….”
Shiorin were also suprised to hear that just like any novel she has read eventualy every story will have an ends.
“please be safe my seedling, I bless you for the hardship and the wonderful life the world”
“thank you mom, look the wind it’s start to guide me I will fly away far far away just like you”
the seedling finally gone flying high in the skies, nobody knows what with happened with them but as Shiori believe
“may you have a happy ending”
THE END
