I worked in the field at multiple companies that were supposed to be "rest and vest" ones where you just show up to collect your paycheck. I seldom had less than 40 hours of actual work a week (usually 50~, occasionally 80+), most of the people in tech seemed like slightly off versions of me that were like 80% similar but I couldn't gel with them at all, and coding itself is just miserable to me. I'm sure they exist, but they're mostly in make work departments for nepotism hires.
