I dunno whose fault it is. Probably the agencies because they kept seeing bigger dollar signs.
But the talent quality has decreased dramatically. Whoever is doing interviews badly needs to realize that anybody applying to an agency nowadays is doing so 100% for the potential to become a millionaire. That means the interviewers need to treat the applicants as natural liars, because of fucking course they're going to gussy up their resume and lie their asses off in the interviews. There's too much money not to.
And the consequence of that is most new talents have "real" personalities of cardboard, completely miss the "vtuber" aesthetic, and sound like they 100% belong on Just Chatting wearing a swimsuit or some shit. Instead they get to waste artists' time, the community's time, and fans' time by baiting for fat donos and whatnot.
