I heard this on /jp/ so it probably isn't true but there are scammers out there who will offer to do everything for indies and up charge them ridiculous money for doing so. There are enough girls and boys out there that want to get it but don't realize you can DM people for commissions directly.

last thread did digging into this there was a literal who company that went down and posted all of their presumably gen 0/1 models on the live2d server months ago. some of the cyberlive models are from there, and by the looks of it the princess and cat were the only ones sold to them.
