I really don't get where some people hear this.

I watched a couple of IRyS karaoke streams, and I didn't enjoy any of them.

Meanwhile when Gawr Gura sings it is comfy and really really gud.

Gawr Gura is the best singer in hololive.

Technique is objective, sounding good is subjective. I don't like IRyS' singing either but I would expect her experience makes her a more skilled singer, which is the most important meaning of better as favorite is an opinion that doesn't mean shit.

IRyS has better technique, range, and skill, but Gura’s voice is unbeatable for certain types of music. The way Gura sings combined with her voice feels very emotional and personal, something IRyS’s singing lacks in comparison.

Gura is not a good singer. Thats all there is to it. Gura has a cute talking voice but that doesn't translate to singing well. She has zero range and no actual technique. Her performances on concerts are carried by the fact that it's Gura when almost every other girl mogs her.
