I completely forget that they consider everything outside of Japan to be "overseas". Even countries that are really close like Korea or Taiwan. When we say "overseas" or "across the lake" we usually think either Europe or NA, depending on which side you're from.

They are genuinely that woke. Early on I liked them because it seemed like they knew how to be polite, until I learned that the reason they are polite is because they are not invested in the vtuber themselves and are instead invested in having sex with one another. Almost every single Asian demographic has ended up disappointing me somehow over time. Chinks are bugmen. Koreans are unreasonably schizo about the most random shit. SEA is SEA. Taiwanese are wokeniggers. Japanese fans have plenty of problems too, but somehow every other Asian country is worse.
I thought EOPs were terrible at first but unironically EOPs have actually improved in overall quality over time. That said, the best fans almost always either nips or JSLs

Nobody in Britain calls France or any other part of Europe "overseas". The british channel is so small that you can literally spot the other side from shore without binoculars.
"Overseas" implies that you have to travel over an ocean with a real ship, not just a ferry. (Or even a tunnel, as is the case between England and France.)

That's not really the issue. The real issue is that they see every single country that is not japan as a single big unit. When a japanese talks about going "overseas" you can see some people say "overseas is dangerous!" and some other people say "overseas is nice an safe".
It's really fucked up because they put norway and nigeria in the same bag out of ignorance.
I have never used the word "foreigner", for example, because that doesn't mean anything really. "foreigner" to me can be a swiss or a congolese but using the same word to refer to both like they were the same is retarded.
