>>59527394It was a difficult period in my life, but one im incredibly happy I stuck through. Forgive the blogposting, but we both went to the same highschool, but never really hung out till after we graduated. Mutual friend took us both to a rock concert and we got drunk as shit, and eventually up kissing. Turns out she secretly had a bit of a thing for me, and I'd always thought she was cute too. Two years of romance later we divided to move in together, got a studio apartment and gave it a shot.
Shortly after that she started having really bad bowel issues, and got diagnosed with colorectal cancer extremely young. Signet cell carcinoma, second stage. A particularly rare and deadly form of the disease, we got lucky in catching it before third stage. The following months were tough, struggling with bills and money, constant doctors appointments and existential crisis, but struggling and seeing how strong she was through all of it made up my mind that I wanted to marry her. I was going to wait until she was cured (to not add further stress) but as her condition weakened I got so terrified of her dying that I didn't want her to go without me telling her how I felt.
