also Crash Bandicoot, Gran Turismo, Lego Island, MediEvil, Metal Gear Solid 1, Resident Evil 1-3, Spyro, Tekken, Vagrant Story, Legend of Dragoon, Koudelka, Driver 1&2 and Chrono Cross
it's true though that there were just a lot more quality 2D games, but there are some absolute diamonds on the ps1
PS2 has some absolute hits also, possibly the strongest console generation ever, way too many to list. And thats where 3D games really hit their stride so they absolutely do hold up, otherwise why would we still be getting remasters of 20 year old games if theyre really that bad?
