it was never about some purity bullshit, the reason why it was unexpected/novel when holos cursed is because they are anime girls and anime girls saying curse words in english is unusual. In fact that's why holo even became popular in the west to begin with, because of the novelty of anime girls like Miko cursing.
I feel like even most EN vtubers nowadays also miss the point like this and forget what the whole 'whoa they just cursed' thing was even about, it was never a serious 'muh purity' 'muh low class' thing
