>>61231327i played a long time ago before Steam so i don't remember perfectly, but essentially it's a settlement builder with roguelite elements. it's easy to follow a run if you look at the red and blue bars at the bottom. the red bar rises as the queen grows impatient and fails the run, you fill the blue bar by completing her tasks and running a good settlement, and thus complete the run.
there are cycles of bad weather, making the land angry by cutting down too much wood, opening up the groves which have random events, keeping your hearth fuelled etc, which stress out the population and make it harder, along with all the random roguelite variables.
there there is good weather, luxuries, inns, and bonuses to buy off traders to reduce the stress and make completing tasks easier.
after each run there are account upgrades and stuff to get, and new challenges to face in the next settlement.
it's a nice little push and pull that honestly adds a lot to the settlement genre, since it keeps you on your toes and not just repeating the same path/build each settlement.
