India used to be irrelevant too, until recently their government spends significant amount of resources for PR stuff, but their internal problems are worse than Indonesia's.
Indonesia never does that, it has always been an inward looking country, prioritizing internal problems, same as China.
China also never been a significant country until late 2000s when they can't hide their potential anymore. Indonesia now is very similar to China back in 1990s, so I'd say wait for 10-15 years and you will hear about Indonesia way more often.

Even if China and India has only recently became economically powerful, they were always culturally relevant for centuries. On the other hand pretty much none of the SEA countries have yet to create a significant cultural icon or export, and I'm sure most people, me included, will struggle to locate where exactly Indonesia is located on the map.

Low income enough that clipping is actually worth the effort. It's like how the Venezuelans took over the Runescape gold farming industry, since the $1-2 an hour is still better wages than local sweatshop labor, and far lower effort.
It only makes sense that SEA is the perfect demographic which has plenty of weebs who watch vtubers, and is low income enough that clipping/dramatubing is genuinely solid income. Remember average income in Indo/Flipland is around $500 a month.

At best I think I've heard the name Bali before once or twice?
Whereas I knew everything the anon you replied to mentioned and had known about at least half of them since I was a kid.
I only know that the country of indonesia exists at all because of vtubers. It was literally random poor African or South American country tier.
