You can't enjoy an anime character (or any story) unless you connect to that anime character with the same brain connections with which you would connect to other people. The only problem is when people fail to differentiate where those connections come from and think fiction and reality are the same (and believe me there are VERY FEW of those), or when people give too much priority to that form of entertainment over their own life (and that's common to any form of entertainment, not just people-based).
Attaching "unhealthy" to that is nothing more than a generalization that stems out of how this whole discussion became politicized and turned into a buzzword mashup (no offense to
