I'm quite interested in seeing how this song performs since it's competing on completely different terms than Loli Kami. Loli Kami was basically the perfect storm viral meme song, sang by an indie as a side activity, got absolutely massive purely through social media attention and maybe a bit of controversy on the side. This song on the other hand is clearly meant to succeed the traditional way, get popular on radios, spotify, and TV stations primarily on musicality. Very big production budget and two very well known corporate backed singers to grab the initial attention, maybe some mildly controversial elements to stimulate discussion but by no means edgy. Both songs are good at what they do, both are based and about loli. If SHINKIRO surpasses Loli Kami then it will mean that viral music is still ultimately for small fry, and vice versa if it doesn't I will take that to indicate that the traditional music environment is either saturated or dated and that meme songs are where opportunities are more rich. Naturally I'd like both to do well regardless.
