>>63764337The fact that this is a who you know kind of industry, and the two have very different networks? Like, none of fishman’s business partners know Aviel, and none of Aviel’s know fishman.
This shit works based on trust, and Aviel just fired Tomar last week. I’m not saying Tomar was or wasn’t the only bad one (I really don’t know, but since there’s no evidence yet, I’m giving Aviel the benefit of the doubt). But it’s still a headache to deal with, and why would Fishman want to put himself through that?
Finally, there’s the issue of company culture. I’m not saying one is better than the other, but they’re different. The talents at Phase and the talents at Idol are used to interacting with their managers and the corporate management side in specific ways, and we have no idea how well that would mesh.
Phase doesn’t just have Muumi but also former managers from other companies in Lumi and Dizzy. People like Pippa and especially Tenma have enough leverage and are opinionated enough to call out fishman when he messes up. This creates a very specific company culture which five girls who know what they’re getting into can adapt to, but twelve girls who never intended to join Phase and are used to Idol could struggle to get used to.
There’s also the branding aspect. You can’t just get into the phasebox by being a sadgirl with yab fetishes. You also have to get along with the existing members of Phase Connect. With a new gen, it’s assumed that the girls are excited to be there, which makes it easier to gel with their senpais. If Phase and Idol merge, there’s going to be clashes between the fanbases, the girls trying to adapt to the new culture of the phasebox, some members feeling resentful that some member is collabing with Phase members and abandoning them and inclining for it…all that.
Much easier to just not do any of it and stick to collabs.
