>>63854112>how I’ve done itUnironically, whenever I notice that a seed like that starts sprouting, I make sure that I feel weirded out (by thinking of the overall awkwardness of the situation). If it gets to be too much, I then decrease the frequency that I watch her for several weeks, even taking long breaks from watching them. If I need to I’ll even avoid the watching others that are in their collab social circle. I do all of this to ensure that the sprouts from the seed wither so I can simply remain a fan, & not become a gachikoi.
>my answer to opIn your case, you need to stop watching her for a while, & whenever those feelings come up when you do think of her, you need to smother them with strong enough feelings of awkwardness; bring them about by thinking things like “you know that you would rather not be in love with her and simply remain a fan”. You will need to keep it up for months until the growth inevitably withers. Do not start watching her again until after it withers down to only sprouts. And you will occasionally need to “mow the lawn” every now & then because you can’t exactly eliminate the seed itself. This is called mental grooming or mental hygiene; for you aren’t your thoughts nor you feelings, you are the awareness of them. You are the ocean & they are the waves you contain.
>”…but what about?”I know there’s cases of content creators that get into an actually serious relationship with a fan (usually a female fan & male content creator with either a mostly male or mixed fanbase, fyi I don’t count hook ups), but I know that it is both time consuming & extremely difficult to not mess it up in order achieve a level of closeness to even have a legitimate attempt at asking them out. And that isn’t even content creators with fanbases mostly of the opposite sex like many chuubas, especially if they’re good looking irl. (& not all attractive female content creaters have fanbases that are mostly male (eg make up channels)).l
