She drew a pretty clear line, she'll go on things like VCR or garibenger for the sake of growing her audience, but she's not going to go beyond friendly but impersonal conversation and jokes with any guys. This is actually pretty obvious already even in just two streams, whenever she's talked with any of guys it's always focused around a particular goal, and once she achieves that goal she leaves them behind and goes back off to do her own thing. The only connection with a sign of lasting engagement so far is starting a pizzeria with another girl vtuber.

The problem, of course, is that there's different levels to unicorns, including a level to which making a joke at a guy or laughing at a guy's jokes is tantamount to having sex while chat is forced to watch. This strict definition of unicorn is what people here mostly seem to have in mind, and if that's the definition you want to use, then yeah, she probably isn't for you. But her line in the sand is that no matter what, even if she does talk with a guy, she's not for that guy, she's for her audience, and no one else.

She's saying that it's not that she loves her audience because she has no other options, it's that she is aware of other options but will never be interested in them and will always pick her chat instead. And if that's still over your personal line, that's perfectly reasonable, everyone's line is different places.

The dumb thing though is the people that immediately jump to some sort of NTR scenario where "knows a variety of guys but loves you" is read as "has an orgy with dozens of guys while you're tied to the cuck chair being fed scraps of affection". And if that were just comedic hyperbole, that would be one thing, but an awful lot of people seem to be just making up new sentences to get genuinely mad at.

To be fair it wasn't just her, but she was interacting a lot with the JP stars on twitter. They were all forced to do it. It looked forced because after debuting, they all went CGDCT and in Ririka's case, GFE. Although sex, Ririka went hard with fetish art. Then she had one recent stream where she (pretended) to be drunk and basically revealed who she really was. Now she's left with a fanbase that's either petty and seething (Me) or coping hard that she did nothing wrong (faggots above).

I get what she/you are saying, but most members of Hololive are like this even though most aren't even GFE. That's what makes this worse. I feel like almost every member of Hololive is either in a relationship, fucking at least once a week if they're single or married with kids. They're charming young women aged 20-40 at the end of the day so I know they're all fucking constantly and it doesn't upset me. There was never any problem with them going on programs like Gariben Girl V. Those are variety shows where the host is essentially interviewing the guests. Even the holos who say they will never collab with males, go on that show or do interviews like that.

The issue comes from having to sit there while your oshi talks to male e-celebs and becomes friends with them. At that point, you feel like a third wheel to their friendship. Why would I want to watch other guys get to have fun her when I don't even get to do that? She said it's fine if some of her fans are angry with her and she doesn't mind if they leave as long as they come back. And she knows they'll come back for ASMR. The problem is, that's not really how these things work. What she said seemed way too cold, calculating, and impersonal, especially with the jovial faux-whiny tone she was using.
Basically, she insulted all her viewers by reducing them to numbers that she will min/max without considering their feelings. It felt like she was looking down on them and saying that they'd come crawling back so it doesn't matter what she does. My problem with that is the assumption that she thought what she was saying applies to other holomen and so she was somehow insulting them and their viewers as well. Her being new obviously means that what she says is going to be scrutinized, but I think it's also important to give her a chance to show what she means before condemning her. That being said, I think she should apologize, but only to her fans. She wasn't insulting the other members or implying that ASMR is a tool to make up for mistakes. She was implying that fans' hearts are easily swayed and so she should apologize for taking the support she receives for granted.
