there was drama in the scene also because some people that had worked on dota moved to riot and used similar champion concepts as well as removing the dota forum website he hosted and replacing it with a page telling people to play lol
then dota 2 was in development and the shit never ended (omg look how this hero is similar to this one, blah blah blah this is better than this, this is more complicated)
huge slapfight despite them existing in two separate niches at this point, it'd be like if (milsim game here) was getting into it with battlefield or some shit idk
