Even Randon made a mention of it in their early collabs, people in Landos personal life tell him to cool it down with the coomer shit all the time, if you watch his streams regularly you would hear him talking about their criticisms, not to mention fans can dm him too

Its a combination of convenience an most likely picking up on criticism.
He "moved" his "web cam" for a stream and didn't feel like moving it back at first, then he started using the cam, but not having it on in discord collabs (but mostly just with Randon).
I think he's just trying to keep up with "Vtuber etiquette" when with collabing with Randon, but not for solo streams
