Why aren't Flayon and Hakka, two people who have pandered to yumes for a while now, especially Flayon, rolling in cash right now? Contrast this with Bettel who actively pushes away any serious yumefujo dynamics with his chat getting inundated with money every stream. Flay can be a niche taste. As someone who briefly was a yume for Flay and shares a lot of interests in common with him, his flaws eventually became too tiresome to stick around for.

I think is as simple as how different their personalities are and the models too. I am not a yume but Bettel sounds and looks like someone that would have a huge female fanbase, even a pretty big male fanbase since he doesn't do the pandershit too much and to me he always felt like a more general streamer than someone that is solely there to fill a niche.

I suppose I should be more specific. Most of Bettel's paypigs probably are yumes but they're yumes without the expectation of receiving the same level of catering that, say, someone from Hololive would. None of them expect Bettel to do BFE asmrs, not collab with women, do BL rps etc. Basically all the stuff that's touted as essential if you want the yumebux, most actual yumes don't care about. This is, ofcourse, without even considering that not all of Bettel's patrons are even yumes at all

Hasn't he only had a total of 3 collabs with girls (two watchalongs + the early LoL group collab), none of which were one-on-one collabs? Unless I forgot something. Flay who you're using as an example has collabed with girls far far more often than Bettel.

Men think they know what women want while being clueless, more news at 11. Not to say there’s no market for the stuff you listed, but as a yume myself, BFE RP does nothing for me and a heavy breathing workout stream wins over any roleplay ASMR. Basically they just got to feel authentic and my brain will supply the rest, but if I feel like they’re acting a certain way to pander to me and my wallet, it feels disingenuous and I lose interest.

Hakka I'm not sure, but as someone who watches Flayon I can give a few reasons. The collabs with females is obviously a turn off to big or dedicated donators, but it's also how thirsty he is. Most women don't like too much thirsty behavior. He not only does it on twitter but also in streams. Now, if he balanced it out with being a gentleman and did some nice yume-friendly lines in streams which I know he knows how to do, it wouldn't be so bad. If those coomer jokes were funny or more smartly timed, it would be a different case but a lot of them are just "ooh thighs omg she's so pretty" and it gets stale after a while. He does know how to use it to his advantage though like with retweeting pretty dresses and subtilely hinting that Machiroons draw themselves in them. Another thing is he talks about other girls often in his solo streams, and if you're watching a stream about him or it's between him and the fans, a lot of yumes don't really want to hear that. Most yumes also prefer someone dominant, and he's good at being dominant the rare time he does it but for the most part he boils down to a cute little shota brother. He has to learn to embrace being one or two tropes, not all of them. There's a niche for him and I love him the way he is, but his type doesn't really have a wide appeal. He still does have a lot of yumes, and he feeds us relatively well. His nuanced opinion on parasocialism also gives some wiggle room for yumes which is good. I could write a whole essay on how some parts of him aren't going to appeal to a wide audience unless he completely changes who he is, but I think that's the gist of it.

Not really, yumes are just too afraid to speak up for what they want while male yumes aren't. Male yumes make it clear they don't want their oshi to talk to males, they want yuripandering, GFE, etc. Female yumes are too afraid to ask for the bare minimum because they care too much what others think but instead show it with numbers. The Holostars fandom's loudest fans are still males and lesbians who don't care for BFE, so that makes it even more intimidating to speak up. So if the few yumes the boys do have want to show anything with numbers, it's not going to show much of a difference.

I find it funny that a lot of Bettel's paypigs have converted over to the highest tier of Jutard menshi, obviously they weren't getting enough feeding out of the clown. But even being one of Jutard's dead exes, he's been solo collabing with Ollie and making relationship/family jokes with her, so are they better off or worse? Or do they just not care? It's sort of both. There's not many, but a sizable amount that do exist don't say anything. I've noticed that when one or two speak up, others will be encouraged to do the same. And they're not just /here/, I've seen some on youtube. I've even made some comments myself that speak up on matters that others are too afraid to say and I get replies like "I'm so glad someone else said this" and "I feel the same way but I was too afraid to say something in fear I might come off as controlling or 'parasocial'". Once people let go of caring what others think, I could see a lot more progress being made.

It's exhausting trying to listen to him when he constantly jumps to completely different topics while finishing no thought he starts. As one other anon said, "gachi" means real/genuine and "koi" is love. Imagine a gachikoi like the guys who marry a plush of Miku. They believe the character is their real-life relationship, they live their life as though they were together. They may always wake up with streams or have dinner/go to bed and view it as the streamer actually spending time and their life together. It can be constructive, like if they get a "Good morning! Wake up/brush your teeth/eat breakfast!" voice pack and use it every day to get their neet ass out of bed because their "wife" said to, it improves their life. Mainly a JP phenomenon.

Yume means "dream", yumedans/yumejos know that they are only fantasizing about being in a relationship with their oshi. It usually takes no greater form than self-insert fanfic and fanart, usually hidden away on a side account to avoid embarrassment. Their self insert may be an idealized version of themself as anime, or a fictionalized persona like "here's my version of myself that lives in Elysium, they're a mage and hang in the tavern waiting for Axel after his gladiator matches". Yume as a term has been expanded to cover all self-inserting from all segments of fandom, not just JP.
