If it wasn't true there wouldn't be sweeping unwritten industry rules to be single, or if you are unable to be single you must hide your relationship from your fans at all costs. The entire culture predates on monetary compensation of men who wish they had something or someone in their lives to support and make them feel loved. I'll still watch vtubers but I won't deny the reality of it.
