>>69632149Women like to engage in flirting and sharing deep emotions and the like as a form of fun and friendship, without necessarily seeing it as serious romance and without expecting men to see it as that either (they'll do the exact same when they want and expect you to see it as romance, too, but then they'll expect you to read their minds and make a move in response because women are dumb). So you get a girl who does a little flirty signoff at the end of streams, and then, the GFE guys are activated. They'll respond positively to this, and in return, she'll think they're playing along with her intention of just being cute and having fun and then she'll lean into that. As it goes on, she'll lean more into it as it goes from just positive responses to actual financial incentive. Once it progresses to private ASMR membership streams, the point of no return will be hit. Now she's financially dependent upon them and more casual viewers will be slowly turned away.
The thing is, in theory, GFE enthusiasts are the perfect viewers. They'll show up to every stream for a crumb of interaction, enduring hours of dead air just for the flirty signoff at the end. They'll go nearly bankrupt sending money to their favorite anime girl. They can be effectively milked for infinite wealth... but you're stuck with them, and they believe they're entitled to that, forever, that anyone who isn't there for that isn't a real fan. And they, are they wrong? They're paying for a service and they want it in exchange, their presence and the gradual shift in content they financially incentivized has made everyone but them stop being fans, and even the others who are still around aren't nearly as invested.
The problem, of course, is that they're not JUST customers expecting a service, they're specifically expecting the service of intimacy and loyalty. As they see it, they weren't just giving her money, they were giving her commitment and they want that in return. Forever. If there's even a momentary lapse or attempt to reel it back, they're personally hurt, and they respond exactly how you think a man in a relationship who sees his monetary investment as entitling him to a woman's eternal devotion does. If you look at the way GFEtubers go, it looks almost exactly like an abusive relationship, with cycles of lovebombing and devaluing and neglect and all, often on both sides. Better not to get involved in either side of it.
