But I have seen too much for my own good and have ended up being burned several times over as a result of the 'turning a blind eye' strategy. I was happier when I believed it worked, before I got burned by it. I do still believe in it for the most part, but at various points I've had the premise of "ignore the male collabers and there'll be no issue" challenged and ended up realizing that there is a nuance to it that must be taken into consideration for the sake of preserving what I enjoy. This paragraph in particular I wrote with a very depressed state of mind, because I wish it wasn't as complicated as its ended up being. And I know that somebody as angry as you about this will probably not be willing to listen in earnest to the explanations I'd offer for why it isn't as simple as it everybody would hope that it would be.

You're angry, sure. But maybe take a step back and recognize that the people who you're angry at might just be angry too, and for damn near the same fucking reasons that you have, but from a different light. It's easy to be upset. It's easy to get upset at others acting out on being upset. It's easy as shit to perpetuate that cycle. And as fans, we have only so much power. And that in itself can be a source of frustration.
I'm a unicorn myself simply because I see it as the most effective means of eventually attaining a situation where there is as peaceful of an environment as possible. Because I remember that environment. Back before JP collapsed into its current meta. I remember better days. And I want them back. Because people were happier back then.
