>>70669797To be fair number monkeys should and need to be shat on. I even agree with Mori on that bit - numberfagging is barely related to vtubing in the sense that it completely negates everything (the girl, her streams, the fans, the whole reason people get invested in the girl) and really does reduce them to a kind of racehorse. It's very dehumanizing by default, but what strikes me as the main feature is that numberfags have a kind of gambler/gacha mentality. They treat vtubing and numbers as an extension of their gambler like addiction, not because they enjoy vtubing or vtubers. To them vtubing is just a vessel for numberfaggotry. They don't give a shit about the talent or her content or HOW and WHY she grew or participate in both as fans, they just see numbers. They have no emotional involvement whatsoever.
Number are indicative of growth or decline, sure, and every fan rejoices when his girl is growing but that's because as a fan we participate and enjoy the process of her growth, the way is the goal not the "goal" of being big. And of course that the management and so on will be interested in numbers but to the audience this is essentially secondary or even meaningless.
Also it's not really a bad song, I kinda like it. I can like it because like I said before Mori has stopped being a problem for vtubing as a whole, she doesn't meddle into or is trying to shit on the general scene anymore. I'd rather eat shit than watch a maletuber or a male collab and I drop anyone who collabs with a male but even I see her as no longer a problem.
