>>70684815>showed she knew how to make and more importantly pilot 2d models/100% manage herself on the tech setup side during interview>showed she was an actual fan of the company and knew alot about the jp side>Had without a doubt the longest amount of experience with streaming of any myth member at the time. Fleshstreaming on twitch, but still streaming experience.>As a result of previous point, also had a large network of positive sponsorship relations and friendships with large content creators to pad the resume. Some friends even people decent sized vtubers themselves at the time Sivervale I get it, she's never really vibed with alot of the traditional jp idol views that Hololive is known for. Probably the least out of arguably anyone in EN, even to this day.
But at the end of the day, the EN branch was seen as more of an experimental side project at the time over a mirror of JP but english. They wanted people who were competent streamers who had more of a general appeal to grab a completely unknown audience to them at the time, and Ame was able to prove herself with flying colors on that front. She had great banter with chat and her outgoing personality led to clips that garnered a shit ton of new fans from all sorts of places.
TL;DR: Ame might seem like a bad pick due to her general attitude clashing with the way we normally see traditional idol vtubing, but she was someone with a large amount of experience handling and setting up her own streams, while also entertaining the kind of fanbase cover was trying to go for with EN in the first place.
In retrospect she was more than perfect for what they wanted in an audition.
